A Happy New Year to one and all.

As we in the UK start 2021 by plunging out of the EU and into another pandemic induced lockdown, rest assured that not everything is doom and gloom. The folks at DataBadger, thanks to our distributed ways of working, are still hard at work designing and building IOT data loggers.

Humidity & Temperature Data Logging

The New DB106A Humidity & Air Temperature Data Logger pictured with a DBJ25 probe

We are happy to introduce the new DB106A two-channel Ethernet humidity & air temperature data logger. This unit allows simple and high accuracy remote measurement and logging of relative humidity and temperature data through the BadgerView application.

DataBadger will offer a range of measurement probes to complement the DB106A, starting with the DBJ25 pictured above. The DBJ25 is a combined hygrometer/thermometer probe manufactured from 304 stainless steel, making it ideal for environmental monitoring in harsh conditions. The DB106A/DBJ25 configuration offers the performance figures given below.

Humidity Specification

ParameterConditionValueUnits
Accuracy toleranceTyp.±2%RH
RepeatabilityTyp.0.15%RH
ResolutionTyp.0.01%RH
HysteresisAt 25 °C±0.8%RH
Operating rangeTyp.0 to 100%RH
Response time1Τ63%8s
Long term driftMax.<0.25%RH/year

1 Time for achieving 63% of a humidity step function, valid at 25 °C and 1 m/s airflow. Humidity response depends on the application of the sensor

Temperature Specification

ParameterConditionValueUnits
Accuracy toleranceTyp. 0 °C to 90 °C±0.2°C
RepeatabilityTyp.0.08°C
ResolutionTyp.0.01°C
Operating rangeTyp.-40 to 125°C
Response time1Τ63%>2s
Long term driftMax.<0.03°C /year

1 Temperature sensor response times strongly depend on the type of heat exchange. Given the IP67 packaging of the unit, the DBJ25 is recommended for air temperature measurement only.
